A documentary wedding photographer is often referred to as a reportage wedding photographer or a wedding photojournalist, however essentially, they all refer to the same thing - An observational and unobtrusive approach to photographing your special day.
This style of wedding photography seeks to avoid directing how the day unfolds, it lets the couple and guests enjoy themselves and often leaves people wondering if there was even a photographer there at all.
I believe in keeping things natural. When people are at ease and relaxed and enjoying the day, that's when the magic happens. My approach to wedding photography is simple, I never interrupt, I just adapt to the situations that present themselves before me. I try to blend in naturally and capture everything as it happens, capturing the memories - I don't want to drag you away from your day. My photography happens in the moment, telling the story of your wedding day with natural un-staged photographs.
Family group photographs are also an important part of any wedding - I prefer to keep these simple, just including immediate family and bridal/groom parties. Which in turn gives you more time to enjoy your special day and mingle with your guests and lets me capture the real moments. Capturing weddings honestly.
